What is triple glazing?

Triple glazing consists of three panes of float glass with two spacers in between. It is also known as HR+++ glass or triple-pane glass. The spacers are filled with gas and hermetically sealed around the edges. A heat-reflective coating is applied to two of the three panes. This results in insulating glass that is as durable as double glazing, but with an improved insulation value and higher comfort. Homes with underfloor heating, in particular, will notice a clear difference with triple glazing, as there is less cold draft near the window. Additionally, triple glazing has the advantage that the surface temperature of the inner pane remains higher. The glass will also cool down less during extreme weather conditions compared to standard double glazing.
